Description

Generative models are opening up exciting new possibilities for innovative human-computer interaction. Significant advancements in multimodal foundation models, along with specialized models tailored to specific tasks, have driven breakthroughs across various applications, particularly in areas like content creation and design.

However, these technical advancements also introduce challenges related to how users can effectively engage with generative AI. The aim of this seminar is to introduce participants to the emerging field of Generative AI within Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research, identify key research gaps, and explore opportunities for future research.

The seminar comprises an extensive set of readings and consists of presentations, discussion and hands-on sessions. It is organized as a block seminar, on 7 days between Oct 23 and Nov 4, 2024, featuring morning and afternoon sessions.

Registration

This is a research seminar that is open only for PhD students and post-doctoral researchers who are active in the field of HCI. If you are interested in participating, please contact Anne Bardesono-Köpsel. Exceptionally talented MSc students with a clear research track and proven research experience in interactive systems can be admitted on a case-by-case basis. Note that this seminar does not give any CP for BSc or MSc programs, but CP can be issued for students in the preparatory phase of the PhD program.
