Time Thursday: 10:00-11:30
Place Bld. E1.7, Room 2.06

Description

The field of Human-Computer Interaction is expansive, encompassing diverse methodologies, modalities and materials. In such a vast ecosystem of research, it is challenging for researchers to maintain a broader awareness of the state-of-the-art. In this seminar series, we will come together to share our multi-disciplinary expertise, critically examine the current developments in our fields and discuss novel research directions. We envision the seminar as a space to exchange constructive feedback as we collectively explore strategies to integrate new ideas and perspectives into our own research.

The seminar series will include talks, readings, group discussions and brainstorming sessions. Each week we will focus on a specific topic relating to research areas such as:

  • Wearable interfaces
    • Social acceptability
    • Embodiment and body perception
  • Input/output modalities
    • Haptic interaction
    • Multi-touch displays
    • Gesture- and metaphor- based inputs
  • Fabrication methods and techniques
    • E-textiles
    • Biomaterial displays
    • Flexible electronics
